4 Creative Ways for Students to Celebrate World Health Day
This year, more than ever, we encourage you to celebrate World Health Day!
World Health Day is observed every April 7 and it is organized by the World Health Organization. This celebration happens yearly, and is assigned a different theme each year. The World Health Day 2021 theme is, “Building A Fairer, Healthier World”, to focus on promoting better health for everyone.
As reported by WHO, the COVID-19 pandemic has undercut recent health gains, pushed more people into poverty and food insecurity, and amplified gender, social and health inequities.
We want to bring attention to this World Health Day to inspire action to eliminate health inequities, and support the global goal to bring people together to build a fairer, healthier world.
This is a great opportunity to educate students and create awareness around specific health concerns. Here are 4 creative ways for students to celebrate world health day in the classroom or at home:
1. Thank you notes: Write personalized thank you notes to nurses and other healthcare workers to mail to a local hospital.
2. Hike or walk: Exercise is crucial to staying healthy. Ask students to take photos of nature for a show and tell.
3. Promote healthy eating: Encourage students to eat fruits and veggies and acknowledge how eating healthy makes them feel good and energized.
4. Create a world health campaign: Brainstorm ideas on how to bring attention to a specific health issue and express it creatively – brochure, poster, video, etc.
At Positive Adventures we believe in promoting health in all that we do. Our mission is to provide our clients with unique opportunities that create a platform for team growth, personal achievement, and education through experiential learning.
