The Great Outdoors - Family Adventure Vacations

Whatever happened to the great outdoor, family adventure vacation? Mom and Dad loading up the car, the kids hopping in the backseat and the open road leading to something new, interesting, educational and ultimately fun. Anyone who is lucky enough to have experienced such a vacation, or even a weekend jaunt of this type, will agree that the sense of the unknown created a wonderful bond between all participants.

As a society, we no longer live in that time period. Our technology has surpassed our desire to explore, and why would we jump in the car when we can fly for cheaper, get to a destination faster and spend more time executing a precise plan? Sure, many vacations sound more like a business trip than a pleasure excursion, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Outdoor Family Adventure Vacations

What if there was an option to mix the best of the old with the organization of the new? A guided, outdoor family adventure vacation into a region of the United States that holds worlds of discovery for anyone at any age? And how nice would it be to enjoy a professional, expert guide on such a trip, who could spend their time focused on logistics, safety and teaching the crew about man's relationship with the great outdoors. Rivers, mountains, forests, campfires, flora and fauna: The list of potential adventure venues goes on and on.

Organizations such as Southern California's Positive Adventures, LLC. offer incredible opportunities for weekends in the wild, as well as many other customizable outdoor treks and adventure activities.

Getting Into the Wild With the Family

There are outdoor adventure possibilities throughout every state in the United States of America. From lakes and rivers in the plains states, to mountain adventures and whitewater rafting in eastern and western states, there is always something that will offer an ideal setting to anyone hoping to spend some time with family in an adventurous, outdoor vacation setting.

Outdoor Family Adventures – National Parks

One thing that many don't realize about the U.S. National Parks Service is that these parks cost very little to take advantage of and enjoy incredible outdoor family adventures. For example, vacationing in a location such as the Grand Canyon's south rim costs less than 20 bucks a night for a site at Mather Campground, and that's at the edge of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The U.S. is full of phenomenal, affordable options such as this, as well as public use areas that are free to anyone willing to follow the local laws of the land. For the adventurous family, adventure is available, and always awaits.
